POWER-GEN India & Central Asia 2008 conference and exhibition will feature the largest exhibition in the event's eight year history, and a significantly expanded conference programme designed to tackle the immense challenges of providing power to one of the world's most populous countries and its second fastest growing major economy.
POWER-GEN India & Central Asia fully reflects India now being one of the most dynamic and exciting electricity sectors in the world. This major industry conference and exhibition has grown in stature with every staging and is now the largest 'POWER-GEN' outside of Europe and North America.
The 2008 conference programme has been designed by POWER-GEN India & Central Asia's expert Advisory Council to specifically embrace the issues central to accelerating power growth in the region.
The first day of the conference will provide an indepth overview of the challenges faced, with welcome addresses and panel contributions from key political and industry figures. Days two and three of the conference will focus on four industry areas critical to India's power future: thermal generation; hydro generation; investments and power markets, and renewables and environmental issues.
